Masks

Lindavideos

If you can sew, make a slipcover for an 8" by 10" (use picture frame mat) "pillow" and turn long sides over for channels for thick yarn or 72 inch shoe strings. This can be used when no mask is available. This can be used to protect the N95 or whatever that is a more protective mask from getting dirty. It can make masks last longer for anyone.

I use a titanium rotary cutter, a  cutting board I bought for $10 from Corelle in St. Augustine, FL, and a picture frame matt for the pattern. I don't own a serger. I use zig-zag as my ONLY stitch.

Who decided what is true and what is untrue for kudzu?

Compare kudzu and ivy, whether English or poison, please. Which grows more? Which is edible? Which is healing?

Kudzu in Mason Jars

Have you noticed salad lasts a few days in the refrigerator  and kudzu does not? Kudzu has no preservative chemicals, and salads do get sprayed.

Keep kudzu in Mason Jars to make them last in the refrigerator, and know what temperature your refrigerator  has. Use a point and scan thermometer.

Clasdico spaghetti sauce uses Mason  Jars

What invasive plant is edible?

What is invasive? What is an invasive edible? Mint, kudzu, thyme, lemon balm. Can you name any more invasive plants? Why is that important? Think about it. Why do we work so hard to have food when there are invasive plants that are so easy to harvest, so easy to ignore and then harvest? Why do we want to work so hard when an invasive plant is there to supply our needs instead?

Kudzu Juice 2003 © Charlotte Fairchild
Step I. Go to a post office in Paulding County and find kudzu beside the parking lot or across the street from the parking lot.
Step II. Pick kudzu, place in a freezer bag with blue ice.
Step III. Wash kudzu in water and salt and then rinse.
Step IV. Use scissors to cut the kudzu diagonally.
Step V. Add equal amount of water, blend, strain and serve with ice. Sweet Leaf stevia optional.

Kudzu Brownies.
Make the juice as above. Save the fiber and add ½ cup of fiber to the brownie recipe and the liquid juice instead of water.  Cook as usual. Sprinkle with white powdered sugar. Maple leaf stencils are optional.

Kudzu Meatloaf
Add ½ cup fiber to the meatloaf with other ingredients and cook as usual.

Kudzu Hot tea is not so easy to find. Place leaves in boiling water and turn heat off. Add sweetener for sweet kudzu tea, salt for a salty tea and black strap molasses for something that tastes awful but might be good for you!
